He is full professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at the University of Milan. He is also a temporary advisor to the World Health Organization in Geneva, and is a member of the Order of Doctors and Journalists of Milan. The main topics of interest include the epidemiology of cancer and the risks associated with tobacco diet oral contraceptives and occupational or environmental exposures to toxic agents, analysis of temporal trends and geographical distribution in mortality from cancer, cardiovascular disease, perinatal diseases and other important diseases. .
